About

Making Caribbean audiovisual talent visible

CFCDb is an open-source initiative led by ANISOTROPIE to connect professionals, productions and institutions across film, sound, animation and post-production.

Where CFCDb comes from

CFCDb starts with a problem I encounter myself. When I develop a project, I need to know who can do what, at what level, and where that person is.

In the Caribbean, this information exists, but it is scattered across address books and personal networks. I have been thinking about it for ten years.

Talking about it with people around me, I found that colleagues and partners faced the same problem. Everyone agreed that a tool was needed. Not everyone could build it.

At some point, someone has to decide to act and make the tool. I curate and lead organisations: designing systems, putting them in place and making them last is my work. CFCDb is one form of that work.

I am not trying to put one person forward. I am trying to solve concrete problems in my territory, the kind I am invited to discuss elsewhere. CFCDb answers my problem, and many others happen to share it.

So I am proposing a tool and inviting everyone to make it their own. Its use by professionals is what will make it alive and effective.

Why CFCDb?

Caribbean audiovisual talent exists, but it often remains invisible outside immediate networks. Local and regional productions struggle to find skills available in the territory and sometimes recruit from elsewhere, not for lack of know-how but for lack of a reference tool.

CFCDb fills that gap with a public, trilingual, skills-based directory, complemented by a job board and a community that keeps it alive.

The problems behind it, in detail

What CFCDb offers

A directory, a job board, and what keeps them alive: the community.

02

The job board

Productions publish projects and the roles they need, with a minimum level. Apply with your CFCDb profile, without attaching a CV.
